A Cleaner & Greener You, with Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS)

With many consumers looking to make a switch from standard oil-based engines to a cleaner and “greener” approach to travel and commuting, Ethanol based products have risen in popularity. Deriving this liquid from corn, a renewable resource, helps countries reduce their dependency on foreign oil and petroleum. But what many people do not know is that the lifecycle of that corn does not end with the production of Ethanol.

Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS) refers to the grains left over after the fermentation of the mixture of water, ground grains and an accelerant like yeast. The liquid taken from that mixture is either used as a fuel or is used to help produce beverages. The remaining grains are then used as feed for livestock.

The growing international popularity of DDGS shows that countries from every corner of the globe see DDGS as a nutritious, economical and efficient feed source. Using quality feed is key for many in the dairy, poultry and swine industries and DDGS products help support that mission.

DDGS production and exports have grown tremendously over the last 5 years, and Fornazor helps ease that demand by supplying and exporting DDGS to Asia, the Middle-East and abroad.

From January 2010 to July 2010, DDGS exports climbed to 4.95 million metric tons, a large jump in comparison to the 5.65 million metric tons exported in 2009. Fornazor continues to expand its DDGS supply base to remain competitive in the global market. With over 30 years of experience, we have the knowledge to back our work in this growing export segment.

VIV Asia 2011: A Rewarding Experience

As the calendar turned to a new year, the focus of Fornazor’s marketing and sales teams zeroed in on Bangkok, Thailand, as VIV Asia was set to begin. Held every-other-year during the month of March, VIV Asia is Asia’s largest livestock technology exhibition. Showcasing world-class technology to Thailand and Asia’s livestock industry, this convention featured 650 companies and offered the latest livestock technology and solutions to 22,000 industry professionals from 94 countries.

With our role as an International leader in the export of feed ingredients and animal proteins, Fornazor saw this conference as an opportunity to not only share our vision to continue relationships with our current business partners but to also establish new associations and business connections with agri-business partners world wide.

Since 1979, Fornazor has led the way with our commitment to quality and innovation. Building on that core business philosophy, Fornazor’s participation in this year’s VIV Asia meshed perfectly with the exhibition’s main themes: consumer demand for healthier foods, extending the shelf life of fresh and safe meat products, and the trend towards systems that cover the entire food supply chain from production to finished products.

Being able to share our knowledge and experience at this years VIV Asia was a rewarding experience for everyone at Fornazor, and we are already looking forward to 2013’s exhibition.
